Tax Benefits Show/Hide
If you are self-employed, current regulations permit an income tax deduction for educational expenses (registration fees, cost of travel, lodging and 80 percent of the cost of meals) undertaken to maintain or improve skills required to perform one's profession or to meet the express requirements of a licensing agency. Workshop expenses may also be considered ordinary business expenses. Most employers offer paid leave, pay registration fees and some expenses for continuing education.
If you are an employee and your employer is reimbursing your educational expenses, please advise them that under the 1986 Tax Reform Act, their deductions for educational expenses and other miscellaneous itemized deductions are allowable only to the extent that the total of such deductions for the year exceeds two percent of adjusted gross income. Self-employed registrants are not subject to this two percent threshold.
These programs were created to introduce professionals in the health and mental health fields to the therapeutic value of SoulCollage®. Counselors, nurses, psychotherapists, health counselors, drug and alcohol counselors, acupuncturists, homeopaths, naturopaths, and massage therapists will experience personal benefits while introducing their clients to a transformative new tool for ongoing self care and soul-tending.
Mariabruna and her co-facilitators (or the presenters she at times sponsors) have a proven track record as informed and engaging speakers. The workshops are designed to nurture professional and personal growth. The schedule varies, depending on the venue and the time frame, but it always allows for hands-on experiences, reflection and meaningful group sharing.
Continuing Education Units are provided for MFTs and LCSWs in California (BBS Approved Provider #3049)
Although SoulCollage is a valuable and effective tool in its own right, its applications under professional guidance yield remarkable results. Seen from a therapeutic perspective SoulCollage is an imaginative process that fosters inner growth and outer change while engaging both sides of the brain.
Helping professionals have long been using Expressive Arts to help bridge the split between mind and body, between internal and external experiences. SoulCollage’s simple yet sophisticated theoretical framework adds another layer of investigative and integrative power. It fosters surfacing of unconscious material in a readily accessible way. It enriches and deepens the therapeutic work with an immediacy that provides profound corrective experiences. In addition, the client brings home a SoulCollage card, the very object that has stimulated the experience, and can use the card over and over again to anchor the insight gained.
Being primarily a visual object, the SoulCollage card acts as a powerful symbol re-activating in the emotional mind of the client the positive experience it depicts every time s/he sets eyes on it. In the making of the card, the client engages both his/her kinesthetic and visual channel, later reinforced by the gestalted verbalization of the message/s the image holds. In this way, the client participates in the creation of her/his piece physically, emotionally, aesthetically, intellectually and spiritually. This multilayered participation is transformative and can lead to sustained change.
In this experiential workshop, you will learn the basic tenets of this accessible yet rich process, explore its rich theoretical roots (psychosynthesis, analytical psychology, etc.) and gain knowledge of its clinical applications (childhood memories, traumatic experiences, relationship conflicts, addictions, distorted self-image, inner conflict, etc.). The one-day format offers 6 CEUs. The longer version (2-3 days, depending on circumstances) offers 14 CEUs.
Writing exercises, group sharing, and Expressive Arts principles (including SoulCollage) help you access your own multiple social identities and discover how these internal identities are integrated or disenfranchised. You will create a collage of your own multiplexity and gain insights on the complexity of cultural identity formation. In this experiential class, you will use heart, mind and creativity to weave practical and authentic bridges of cross cultural understanding for yourself as a mental health practitioner and for your clients. This one-day program offers 6 CEUs.

SoulCollage opens the doors of our imagination and let us get
closer to our essence through rich images and inspired words.
In this workshop Miriam Goldberg, PhD, and Mariabruna Sirabella,
LMFT invite you to animate the imagination by using movement,
sensation and sound to explore the relationship between the
imagination embodied in your cards and the one emerging in your
body. The natural wisdom revealed in movement, vibration, responsiveness,
and play support the intention of getting closer to the delicious
experience of felt essence. A workshop developed from the exploration
shared by Miriam Goldberg at the 2007 SoulCollage Conference.
